Juan Villalobos Joins Small Business Majority as Midwest Director

Small Business Majority announces new leadership to support the organization’s mission in the Midwest  

Chicago—Small Business Majority announced today that Juan Villalobos has joined the organization as Midwest Director. Juan oversees program development and policy advocacy to help small businesses start and grow throughout the region. A seasoned community advocate with nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience, Juan is an expert in community building, policy and advocacy work and organizational strategic development. Juan is also fluent in Spanish, and will assist with the organization’s outreach to the Hispanic community.

“Juan has an extensive background in virtually everything our organization undertakes to serve entrepreneurs, including relationship building, policy work, advocacy work and fundraising,” said John Arensmeyer, founder & CEO of Small Business Majority. “He'll be an immediate asset to our Midwest team and Small Business Majority as a whole, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Previously, Juan worked at the Center for Economic Progress (CEP) as the Interim Executive Director/Director of Community Building and Strategic Partnerships. He managed all of CEP’s community, corporate, and electoral partnerships. Prior to CEP, Juan worked as a consultant for the State of Illinois New Americans Initiative and early childhood development and policy with Illinois Action for Children. Juan is also a small business owner who designs and builds custom furniture from upcycled materials.

Juan started on Sept. 10 and is based in Small Business Majority’s Chicago office.
