Nasia Chisolm

Nasia Chisolm serves as Small Business Majority’s Outreach Assistant. She supports the organization’s Outreach team through assisting within events, marketing, and relationship building with fellow small business owners. Prior to joining Small Business Majority, Nasia worked with Silence the Shame as a Program Coordinator Intern and interned at PwC as a Nonprofit Consultant. She also is currently obtaining her Masters in Organizational Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University.

Alexis manages Small Business Majority’s government affairs work through the organization’s relationships on Capitol Hill, the Biden-Harris administration, federal agencies and the White House. Alexis ensures Small Business Majority’s national network of entrepreneurs and partner organizations stay up to date and actively involved in all relevant federal affairs developments, including legislative and regulatory developments as well as coalition engagement, to achieve the organization’s federal policy goals.

Today, John Arensmeyer, Founder and CEO, submitted a comment to the Federal Register on The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) joint 2023 Draft Merger Guidelines. Robust market competition is essential to a thriving small business ecosystem. Small Business Majority submitted an amicus brief before the Delaware Supreme Court in response to a case regarding forfeiture-for-competition clauses (FFCs), which are similar to non-compete agreements. The brief explains how these types of agreements create barriers to entrepreneurship and make it harder for small employers to attract the best talent.

The economic impact of reproductive healthcare on small businesses

On June 28, we co-hosted a webinar with the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) to discuss the economic impact of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade on women small business owners.
