On April 25, Small Business Majority's Colorado Director Lindsey Vigoda testified before the Colorado House Public & Behavioral Health & Human Services Committee on HB 23-1303, legislation that includes critical protections for Coloradans and small businesses in the event of an insurance company failure, which would severely impact their ability to access affordable healthcare.

Hundreds of small businesses call on FTC to ban non-compete agreements

More than 400 small business owners and business organizations signed on to our letter urging the Federal Trade Commission to enact its proposed rule to ban non-compete agreements. Non-compete agreements are a significant impediment to entrepreneurship, create a non-level playing field and impede the ability of employees to maximize their skills.

Small Business Majority supports a state-run paid family and medical leave program in Minnesota

On April 11, Small Business Majority's Vice President, Policy & Advocacy David Chase submitted a letter to policymakers and elected officials in support of HF2, legislation that would create a state-run paid family and medical leave program for Minnesotans. This program would allow small businesses in the state to access and offer this benefit for their employees, helping them overcome obstacles in attracting and retaining a ready workforce.

On April 7, Small Business Majority submitted a letter to the U.S. Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, urging the committee to confirm the nomination of Julie Su as the next Secretary of Labor. Deputy Secretary Su is collaborative, works well with small business groups, and will ensure that small businesses and their employees are truly supported and prioritized.
