Small Business Majority Opens Southern California Office

Los Angeles, CA̢??‰۝National small business advocacy organization Small Business Majority opened a new Los Angeles office this week, making it the organization̢??‰?s third location in California and ninth across the country. L.A. native Marcia D????valos, who grew up helping in her family̢??‰?s small business and who̢??‰?s had extensive experience working on policy issues important to Southern California small businesses, will head up the Sherman Oaks-based office.

̢???I am excited to join Small Business Majority and eager to put my skills to use working with the Southern California small business community,̢???? said D????valos. ̢???I̢??‰?m proud to be part of a team that̢??‰?s working to advocate for entrepreneurs, and eager to help it reach new heights.̢????

D????valos will focus on building and fostering relationships with small business owners and organizations across Southern California and the greater Los Angeles area. D????valos grew up in her family-owned and operated small business, which opened more than 35 years ago as a small mom and pop silver and leather shop in Los Angeles. Today, the family business continues to thrive and has grown into an internationally recognized manufacturer.

Prior to her work with Small Business Majority, D????valos served as director of regional networks for the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California, a statewide policy group working to improve the conditions, services and health of Latinos across California. She also has extensive experience as a community organizer and as deputy campaign manager for various campaigns including statewide ballot initiatives.

In addition to hiring D????valos, Small Business Majority also added two new team members to its Sausalito, Calif. office: grant writer Laura Copeland and executive assistant Jenn Walker.
