Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Washington, D.C. A small business owner in Small Business Majority's Network Council was invited by the White House to attend the president's immigration reform announcement today in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Las Vegas entrepreneur Ron Nelsen, whose company, Pioneer Overhead Door, sells garage doors and accessories, will join the president in Las Vegas as he lays out his plans for immigration reform.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing comprehensive reform that promotes smart, rational immigration policies that ensure we have a reliable, trained workforce who are part of stable, productive communities, said Nelsen, who owns Pioneer Overhead Door in Las Vegas, Nev. This is a nation of immigrants, and we should craft policies that are mutually beneficial to immigrants and our economy.

The president's announcement comes a day after a bipartisan group of U.S. senators unveiled their plans for a comprehensive reform package that will address border security along with legal options for the estimated 11.5 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

We're glad to see small businesses' important role continuing to be recognized, said John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority. As America's chief job creators, small businesses have a unique perspective in the immigration reform discussion. They want smart immigration policies that enhance our workforce and increase consumer demand, which will strengthen our economy.
